Visible Mending with That Perfect Hour - March 29
Come join Renee from That Perfect Hour for an afternoon of creativity at Further Doings Studio, Sunday 29th March from 1-4pm.
Keen to learn how to create striking visible mends on your jeans? This is the class!
We’ll learn stitches from traditional Japanese sashiko, which has been used in clothing repair for many centuries. These simple stitches can be combined to create beautiful visible mends.
No previous sewing skill is required. Beginner friendly class.
Bring: jeans requiring mending, if you have them.
If not, no problem, we will create unique denim patches that can be used in mending.
Materials to be provided: each student will receive sashiko threads and needles in a small pouch to take home.
Supplied for students’ use in the class will be denim and other scrap fabrics for patches, fabric marking pens, rulers and templates and other general hand-sewing supplies.
Afternoon tea will be provided.
This class is limited to only 6 people, so a great chance to get one on one advice.
